Non-Clinical Research Fellowship 2007

DRWF Research Fellowships are given for research related to causes, cures or complications of diabetes

DRWF Non-Clinical Research Fellowships cover a period of up to 3 years, in a recognized institution or department within the United Kingdom

Support for the 2007 fellowship is a maximum of �55,000 per year, to include a salary and some support costs for a post-doctoral researcher working or intending to work in the field of diabetes

Interested applicants are asked to send a Pre-Application (electronically and by post) which must include:

  • Applicant�s name, qualifications, contact details and present post.
  • Head of Department where the grant will be held, the expected post of the applicant within the Department and contact details of the Department.
  • Signed verification of funding application by Head of Department and department/institution authorities stating "I confirm that this application has been read and that, if granted, the work will be accommodated and administered in the department/institution".
  • An abstract of the proposed research work (title, research question (approx. 300 words), relevance to diabetes and expected outcome) using single line spacing and an 11 or 12 point clearly readable font on a maximum of two sides A4 paper.
  • A lay summary of the research question.
  • Any additional information to support the application (no references).

Plus a brief curriculum vitae on a separate single sheet of A4

Closing date for Pre-Applications: 5pm, Friday, 28th April 2006

Successful applicants at the pre-application stage will be notified by 2 June 2006 and will be required to submit a full application by 4 August 2006.

Candidates selected for interview will be notified by mid September 2006 and final interviews will be held end October 2006.

The successful applicant will be expected to take up the Fellowship early in 2007.
